CNA PROGRAM

Indy's Health Care Training Center Certified Nurse Aide Training Program is approved by the Indiana State Department of Health. Students receive a required 30 hours of classroom training and 75 hours of clinical training. After students have completed the course successfully, students will then be ready to take the state nurse aide exam.

Qualifications!

  • At least 16 years old
  • Be able to add and subtract simple equations
  • Be able to read and write English
  • High school diploma or GED (Preferred)
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Provide a 2 step TB skin test -MUST BE PROVIDED BEFORE THE START OF CLASS
  • Must be able to pass a work physical exam - MUST BE PROVIDED BEFORE THE START OF CLASS

Not sure if you need to take the 105 Indiana Nurse Aide Program ? Here's your options on becoming a Certified Nurse Assistant in Indiana if you are already a Nurse or have a certificate in another state.

Student Nurse:

  • Be currently enrolled in a nursing program
  • Successfully completed Fundamentals of Nursing or equivalent course with a “C” or better grade
  • Successfully complete the competency evaluation written examination.

Graduate Nurse, has not taken Boards:

  • Be a recent graduate of nursing school within the past 2 years, that has not taken the Boards yet.
  • Successfully completed Fundamentals of Nursing or equivalent course with a “C” or better grade.
  • Successfully complete the competency evaluation written examination.

Graduate Nurse, did not pass Boards:

  • Be a recent graduate of nursing school within the past 2 years that did not pass the Boards.
  • Successfully completed Fundamentals of Nursing or equivalent course with a “C” or better grade.
  • Successfully complete both the written and skills competency evaluation.

Nurse Aide certified in another state:

  • Be current and in good standing, with no verified complaints, as a CNA in another state.
  • Successfully complete the Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation written examination.
